My journey along the yellow brick road to becoming an RD
Haha about needing to carry a toothbrush- that's why I'm always hesitant about eating recipes with garlic when I'm on the go! Get some garlic powder- tastes as delicious in hummus but doesn't leave garlicky breath which lasts for hours after ;)! When I'm out & about, almonds and/or snack bars (preferably with a minimal ingredient list & with protein) are my go-to snacks!
I've never tried garlic powder in my hummus! I'll give that a try next time. Thanks!
I still need to get back on the hummus-making bandwagon! Unfortunately, I've only got a mini-processor, so it doesn't quite get it smooth enough for my liking. I guess I know what's going on the Christmas list next year! And oh my goodness, those balls look so, so good (don't you love how many TWSS jokes can come out of a recipe like this?:-D). I adore gingerbread...and white chocolate!Portable snacks for me are usually hummus and veggies, protein bars, or nuts and a cheese string.
I had that same problem with my mini processor - it couldn't really handle much other than blending ingredients for homemade dressings and sauces. :P
Omg these date balls look amazing! I am soooo making them...never tried to make them before but I can't say no to these...I like making almond butter in my food processor...and snacks for busy days include trail mixes and luna bars/larabars...easy to eat one handed while holding Peanut if I have to!
Mmmmm those date balls look delicious! Gingerbread is one of my favorite flavors EVER.
Wow you ARE busy!!! I'm taking 2 classes this semester, but still feels like a lot, since one actually counts as 2, and then with a baby...I feel like I'm slightly overdoing it, but nothing compared to what you're doing! Those date balls look amazing. And I love white chocolate...I miss it so much!!! I definitely need to try making these!!
A baby is like 3 full time jobs - I don't know how you're balancing it all!
I love this recipe! Sounds amazing. I can't wait to try it!
Woohoo thanks for the recipe dear girl, these look super tasty and not pretty simple too! And holy moly you are busy, I am about to get back into that mode soon too, boooo haha
I got that same appliance for xmas but still haven't used it. I do love anything gingerbread flavored though
Those gingerbread date balls look so cute & delish!! I have a Cuisinart Food Processor too & LOVE it!! My favorite thing to make in it is homemade nut butter & using it to mixup cheesecake. That thing is amazing.
These sound and look killer! I've been craving molasses this past week so I'm going to have to make these. Just wrote down the recipe, thank you! For busy days I'm a huge fan of easy to eat fruit (berries, clementines, apples), almond butter, and coffee... not that it's even close to being a food!
You're welcome! I hope you like them. :)
You did pack up what was looking like it could have been an easy semester! But I personally think that it is good, it sounds like everything you are doing is worthwhile and exciting and will help you in your future! OK anything gingerbread is amazing! These look epic! I love making pesto in our food processor! perfect topping for so many dishes!
Ooh I haven't tried making homemade pesto yet - thanks for the idea!
YESSSS a twss joke ahahah. love it. Those sound amazing, good thing we are going to whole foods this afternoon so I can pick up alllllllll the ingredients! Glad you're keeping busy - everything you've got going on sounds a TON more fun than school work for sure!
I made humus in mine yesterday!
I've been obsessed with molasses lately! These look perfect for those afternoon munchies! I swear everytime I feel like my schedule is dying down, it ends up not because I have so many appointments, things to do. It's weird how it works. At least being busy will make the days go by faster:)
Have you ever tried making fresh nut butter? SO much better than store bought!
Not yet, but I plan on trying it sometime soon!
"TWSS"= Amaze-balls. Lol. ;)
Soooooo I know you're busy but I wanted to peg you with a Liebster anyways. Love ya ;) http://happyisthenewhealthy.com/2013/01/20/sunday-special-feeling-and-spreading-the-blog-love/
Those balls look DELICIOUS!! I love the idea of adding ginger and molasses.
I've yet to make my own hummus (or nut butter, for that matter), but I'm a huge fan of whipping up batches of energy balls :D I usually just make mine with chocolate chips, but I've been on a HUGE ginger/molasses kick lately so I really want to try these out. And the chocolate melted over top? Amaaaazing.
the food processor is my saving grace!!
Seven Dangerous Act After Meal
Ah, the dreaded garlic breath, I get the same thing when I make my homemade pesto. I have to admit that I have never made my own hummus, I just might have to...
MMmmmm, those look good! I didn't even come close to meeting my gingerbread quote over the holidays. I have catching up to do!
